During a photoshoot;

Throughout your session, we'll try different lighting set-ups, backgrounds and clothing options. We can review your photos during the shoot, and make sure you are getting the shots you need. The session will be conducted in a relaxed environment, and you will receive all the coaching and advice you need to get the best out of each set-up. I love working with new clients, and I always make sure each session is fun and enjoyable! Even if you are initially nervous or anxious, don't worry, we'll get to know each other as the session progresses, and you'll soon relax and get into the swing of it.

What to wear for Headshots;

Bring some options for both dark and light tops, trying to avoid logos/brands, dense patterns/stripes, and clothing that you will be comfortable in. For your own comfort, you can wear whatever you like below the waist, as Headshots & Portraits will be close-up head and shoulders shots mostly.

Hair & Make-Up;

You'll have plenty of time to get yourself organised before we begin shooting. It's best to keep your make-up natural and understated for headshots. If there is anything in particular you wish me to attend to during retouching of your chosen photos, just let me know. If you require a make-up artist, I can make some recommendations for you.

After the shoot;

I'll review all the shots we've taken, and select all of the best ones. These will then be uploaded to a private, password-protected preview gallery. I'll send you the link to this page, and the password, which you can share with your agent/manager to help you select the shots you want.

Your selections;

After you have selected which photos you want, I will work on each one with some light retouching, colour and brightness grading, and crop each one to 8x10 industry standard. Each photo you select will be supplied in both Colour and Black & White.

Archiving;

Every photo I take will be permanently archived, in case you decide at a future date that you wish to choose more images from your shoot.

Do I receive all the Photos / Footage?

A photographer will take many photos during a session, hundreds of them in total. From these, they will cull the very best, the ones that are most flattering to you, and have the most potential to be works of art. Then they will perfect them, editing them until they are the best they can be, balanced and natural. These edited photos will show the best possible you. Professional photographers show off their best work after all of the very best photos have been chosen and edited to their greatest advantage for pictures of the most supreme quality and beauty. Having raw, discarded photos represented to others as the photographer's work, as pieces that were supplied to a customer, would make a photographer look unprofessional, and would affect future bookings. It is normal practice that only a selection of carefully chosen and edited shots are supplied as the final product.
